Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Make sure it's at room temperature.
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract Optional, can be omitted.
Mix-ins
  • 1/2 cup sprinkles Use colorful sprinkles for a festive look.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Whisk them together and set aside.
Mixing
  1. In a separate large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  2. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract to the butter mixture and mix until well combined.
  3. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing well until a dough forms.
  4. Gently fold in the sprinkles until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
Baking
  1. Drop spoonfuls of dough onto a lined baking sheet, leaving some space between each cookie.
  2. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are slightly golden.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them for up to three months. Thaw at room temperature or microwave briefly before serving.
