  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Can be omitted for nut-free cookies.
  • to taste sprinkles (for decoration)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time and then stir in the vanilla extract.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  2. Fold in the chocolate chips and optional chopped nuts.
Baking
  1. Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Add sprinkles on top if desired.
  2. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
  3. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, ensure butter is at room temperature. Optionally, chill the dough for 30 minutes if the kitchen is warm. Store in an airtight container for up to one week, or freeze for up to three months.
