Preparation
- Start by slicing the tops off the tomatoes and scooping out the insides to create a cavity.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chili powder, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
- Divide the mixture into four equal portions and form patties.
Cooking
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the patties for 5-6 minutes on each side until desired doneness.
- While the patties are cooking, layer the lettuce leaves inside each hollowed tomato.
Assembly
- Once cooked, place the patties inside the tomato buns. Add optional cheese and preferred condiments.
- Enjoy your burgers immediately!
Notes
Leftover burgers can be refrigerated for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 3 months. Reheat in a skillet or oven.
