  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (about 6 oz each) Fresh salmon fillets preferred.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil Extra virgin olive oil is recommended.
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 whole lemon (juice) Freshly squeezed is best.
  • to taste fresh herbs for garnish (like parsley or dill) Optional for serving.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) to achieve a crispy exterior.
  2. Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
  3. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, thyme, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Brush the spice mixture generously over each salmon fillet.
  5. Place the seasoned salmon fillets on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  6. Bake the salmon for 12-15 minutes, or until it flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the cooked salmon and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
  8. Garnish with fresh herbs before serving.

Notes

Substitute fish like trout or cod if salmon is unavailable. Store leftovers in an airtight container for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
