Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan with butter or baking spray.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix together the sugars and melted butter. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, stirring until smooth.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry mixture and stir until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
- Gently fold in the diced apples until evenly distributed.
Baking
- Transfer the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.
Cooling and Glazing
- Allow the bread to cool for about 10 minutes in the pan before transferring it to a wire rack.
- For the glaze, whisk together powdered sugar and milk until smooth, then drizzle over the cooled bread.
Serving
- Once the glaze has set, slice the bread and serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Store the bread in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerate for up to a week. It can also be frozen for up to three months. To reheat, microwave for 20-30 seconds or warm in the oven at 350°F (175°C) for 10-15 minutes.
