Spaghetti Pie Casserole

Ingredients
  

Pasta Base
  • 8 ounces spaghetti Cooked according to package instructions
Meat and Sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground chicken or turkey
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Use half in meat mixture and half for egg mixture
  • 1 onion chopped Sauté until translucent
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Cheesy Filling
  • 3 pieces eggs
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese For topping
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese For topping

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Cook the spaghetti until al dente, then drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in oil until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat, stir in 1 cup of marinara sauce, and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  4. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, ricotta cheese, and the remaining marinara sauce.
  5. Combine the cooked spaghetti with the egg and ricotta mixture.
Assembly and Baking
  1. In a greased pie dish or casserole pan, layer half of the spaghetti mixture.
  2. Spread the beef mixture on top, then layer the remaining spaghetti mixture. Top with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  3. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  4. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.

Notes

For best results, do not overcook the spaghetti. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.
