Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and add a pinch of salt. Cook the spaghetti until al dente, then drain and set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, sauté the chopped onion in oil until translucent. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess fat, stir in 1 cup of marinara sauce, and season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, ricotta cheese, and the remaining marinara sauce.
- Combine the cooked spaghetti with the egg and ricotta mixture.
Assembly and Baking
- In a greased pie dish or casserole pan, layer half of the spaghetti mixture.
- Spread the beef mixture on top, then layer the remaining spaghetti mixture. Top with shredded mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing. Serve warm.
Notes
For best results, do not overcook the spaghetti. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat at 350°F (175°C) until warmed through.
