Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces chicken thighs or breasts (boneless and skinless)
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 2 pieces green onions, sliced

Method

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, honey (or brown sugar), grated ginger, and minced garlic. Add the chicken thighs or breasts and marinate for at least 15 minutes (or up to overnight for more flavor).
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Make sure the oil is hot enough before adding the chicken.
Cooking
  1. Remove the chicken from the marinade (reserve the marinade) and add it to the skillet. Sear for 5-6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  2. Pour the reserved marinade over the chicken and let it simmer for about 5-10 minutes, until it thickens and coats the chicken beautifully.
  3. Once cooked through, sprinkle with sesame seeds and sliced green onions before serving. Pair with rice or steamed veggies for a complete meal.

Notes

For a vegan option, replace honey with maple syrup and use coconut aminos for a soy-free alternative. Ensure the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F.
