Ingredients

Main ingredients
  • 1 box saltine crackers
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons red pepper flakes
  • 1 packet ranch dressing mix
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon onion powder

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 250°F (120°C). This low temperature will allow the flavors to meld while keeping the crackers from burning.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the vegetable oil, red pepper flakes, ranch dressing mix, garlic powder, and onion powder until well mixed.
  3. Place the saltine crackers in a large mixing bowl. Pour the oil mixture over them, and gently toss with your hands or a large spoon until all the crackers are well-coated.
  4. Spread the coated crackers onto a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake them in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring halfway through to ensure even cooking.
  5. Once they’re done baking, remove them from the oven and let them cool for a few moments. Serve them warm or store them in an airtight container for later.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for about a week, or freeze for up to a month. To reheat, spread on a baking sheet and warm at 250°F (120°C) for about 5 minutes.
