Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 pieces ripe bananas, sliced Choose overripe bananas for the best sweetness.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Can substitute with granulated sugar mixed with a little molasses.
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup milk
Crumble Topping
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter To be mixed into the dry ingredients.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the ripe bananas and layer them in a greased baking dish.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the brown sugar, melted butter, vanilla extract, and milk. Stir until well blended, and pour over the bananas.
Crumble Topping
  1. In another bowl, combine the flour, oats, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. Mix in the butter to create a crumbly texture.
Assembly & Baking
  1. Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the banana mixture.
  2. Place the cobbler in the preheated oven and bake for 35-45 minutes, or until the top is golden and crisp, and the banana filling is bubbly.
  3. Allow the cobbler to cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve with whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra touch. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
