Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips and caramel bits until evenly distributed.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded portions of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes until the edges are lightly browned and the centers are set, yet soft.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Make sure your butter and eggs are at room temperature for best results. Chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking for enhanced flavors. Store in an airtight container for up to one week or freeze for up to three months.
