Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until the mixture is smooth and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is well incorporated before adding the next. Stir in the vanilla extract until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden but the centers are still soft.
- Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
To enhance flavors, consider chilling the cookie dough for at least 30 minutes before baking. Keep an eye on your cookies to avoid overbaking for a moister, chewier texture. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
