Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
- In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until the batter is smooth and well combined.
- Evenly distribute the batter between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
Frosting and Assembly
- In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and peanut butter, mixing until smooth. Add vanilla extract and milk to reach the desired frosting consistency.
- Place one cake layer on a serving platter, spread an even layer of frosting on top, then add the second layer. Frost the top and sides of the entire cake.
- Drizzle with caramel sauce, and sprinkle crushed peanuts and chocolate chips on top for that Snickers-inspired finish.
Serving
- Slice and serve the cake chilled or at room temperature—enjoy every bite!
Notes
For substitutions, try using Greek yogurt instead of some of the oil for a lighter version. Ensure that the cake layers are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
