Ingredients

For the Cake
  • 1.5 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cups granulated sugar
  • 0.75 cups unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tablespoons baking powder
  • 0.5 teaspoons baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoons salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cups milk
  • 0.5 cups vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
For the Frosting
  • 1 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 3-4 cups powdered sugar
  • 0.5 cups creamy peanut butter
  • 1 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1-2 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
Toppings
  • 1 cups chopped peanuts
  • 0.5 cups chocolate chips (optional)
  • 0.25 cups caramel sauce

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease two 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until combined.
  3. In another bowl, beat the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract together until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until the batter is smooth and well combined.
  5. Evenly distribute the batter between the prepared cake pans and bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  6. Allow the cakes to cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
Frosting and Assembly
  1. In a bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar and peanut butter, mixing until smooth. Add vanilla extract and milk to reach the desired frosting consistency.
  2. Place one cake layer on a serving platter, spread an even layer of frosting on top, then add the second layer. Frost the top and sides of the entire cake.
  3. Drizzle with caramel sauce, and sprinkle crushed peanuts and chocolate chips on top for that Snickers-inspired finish.
Serving
  1. Slice and serve the cake chilled or at room temperature—enjoy every bite!

Notes

For substitutions, try using Greek yogurt instead of some of the oil for a lighter version. Ensure that the cake layers are completely cool before frosting to prevent melting.
