Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix well, then add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly with a spatula.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon-sugar mixture generously over the top of the batter.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Once cooled, slice into squares and serve.
Notes
These bars can be served plain or enjoyed with a scoop of ice cream or a drizzle of caramel. Store in an airtight container for up to a week or refrigerate for longer freshness. Leftovers can be frozen for up to three months.
