  • 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients

  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
Topping

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease a 9x13 inch baking pan with non-stick spray or line it with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until fluffy.
  4. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.
  6. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the butter mixture until fully combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly.
  8. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture over the top.
  9. Place in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the top is set and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few crumbs.
  10. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10-15 minutes before cutting them into squares.
  11. Serve warm or at room temperature, and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, ensure butter and eggs are at room temperature. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Warm in the microwave for 10-15 seconds before serving.
