Ingredients
  

For the dip
  • 8 oz smoked cheese (try smoked Gouda or smoked cheddar)
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened Let it soften at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • Chopped green onions for garnish (optional)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by letting your cream cheese soften at room temperature.
  2. Grate or shred the smoked cheese of your choice.
Mixing and Baking
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Stir until smooth; a hand mixer can be used for easier mixing.
  2. Add the smoked cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper to the mixture. Stir until thoroughly combined.
  3. Transfer the mixture into a baking dish or oven-safe bowl. Optionally, sprinkle some additional smoked cheese on top.
  4. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 15-20 minutes or until heated through and bubbly. For browning, place it under the broiler for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. Once out of the oven, garnish with chopped green onions if using and serve hot with your favorite chips, crackers, or veggies.

Notes

If you can’t find smoked cheese, substitute with regular cheddar or gouda and add smoked paprika for flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or microwave.
