Method
Preparation
- In a large skillet, over medium heat, add the ground beef or turkey. Sauté until browned, breaking it up into small pieces as it cooks—about 5-7 minutes.
- Once the meat is browned, add the chopped onion. Continue cooking until the onion is soft—around 3 minutes.
- Lower the heat and stir in ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assembly
- Take a flour tortilla and add a generous scoop of the Sloppy Joe filling onto the center. Sprinkle with shredded cheese.
- Carefully fold in the sides of the tortilla and then roll it up tightly from the bottom. Repeat this with all tortillas.
Grilling
- Heat a non-stick grill pan or skillet over medium heat. Add the burritos seam side down, grilling for about 3-5 minutes on each side, until golden and crispy.
Serving
- Cut in halves or quarters, serve with your favorite toppings, and enjoy!
Notes
For a vegetarian option, use ils or black beans instead of meat. Storing leftovers: Refrigerate for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
