Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, over medium heat, cook the ground beef, breaking it apart as it cooks until browned. Drain any excess grease if necessary.
  3. Add onions and bell peppers to the skillet and sauté until softened.
  4. Stir in the Sloppy Joe sauce, and let it simmer for a few minutes for the flavors to meld.
  5. Transfer the meat mixture into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  6. Spread tater tots evenly over the meat mixture.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously over the tater tots.
