Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) while you prepare the cookie dough.
  2. In a bowl, combine the melted butter, sugar, brown sugar, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add the egg yolk to the wet mixture and blend until combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture. Stir until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips generously; after all, you want a double chocolate experience!
  7. Transfer the dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and form it into a cookie shape.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but the center is still soft.
