  • to taste Pepper Freshly ground is preferred.
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Onion powder
  • 1 cup Beef broth Adds moisture during cooking.
  • optional BBQ sauce For serving or topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) to ensure the brisket cooks evenly.
  2. Rinse your brisket under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder all over the brisket.
  4. Put the seasoned brisket in a roasting pan fat side up.
  5. Pour the beef broth into the bottom of the pan.
  6. Cover the pan with aluminum foil to lock in steam and flavor.
  7. Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 3-4 hours or until fork-tender.
  8. You can uncover the foil for the last 30 minutes for a crispier texture.
  9. Remove from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Consider using a dry rub for variation. Allowing the brisket to rest after cooking is crucial for retaining juices. For storage, wrap leftovers tightly and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
