Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C) to ensure the brisket cooks evenly.
- Rinse your brisket under cold water and pat it dry with paper towels.
- Rub salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder all over the brisket.
- Put the seasoned brisket in a roasting pan fat side up.
- Pour the beef broth into the bottom of the pan.
- Cover the pan with aluminum foil to lock in steam and flavor.
- Place in the preheated oven and bake for about 3-4 hours or until fork-tender.
- You can uncover the foil for the last 30 minutes for a crispier texture.
- Remove from the oven and let it rest for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
Notes
Consider using a dry rub for variation. Allowing the brisket to rest after cooking is crucial for retaining juices. For storage, wrap leftovers tightly and refrigerate for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
