For the sauce
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter For a richer flavor, use high-quality grass-fed butter.
  • 2 tablespoons capers Rinsed and drained.
  • 1 lemon Zest of 1 lemon
  • 1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Salt and pepper to taste Be cautious with the salt due to the capers.
  • Chopped fresh parsley (optional) For garnish.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat, being careful not to let it brown.
  2. Once the butter is melted, stir in the rinsed and drained capers and let them cook for about 2-3 minutes until slightly golden.
  3. Add the lemon zest and freshly squeezed lemon juice to the pan, stirring well to combine all the flavors.
  4. Taste the sauce and add salt and pepper according to your preference.
  5. If desired, sprinkle some chopped fresh parsley on top for garnish.
  6. Serve the Simple Lemon Caper Sauce drizzled over your favorite dishes.

Notes

For a smoother sauce, blend everything after cooking. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
