Preparation
- Start by finely chopping the onion and mincing the garlic to blend seamlessly into the meat mixture.
- In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, breadcbs, chopped onion, minced garlic, egg, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, salt, pepper, and thyme. Mix everything together gently but thoroughly.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a loaf shape and place it on a piece of parchment paper or spray the slow cooker with cooking spray.
- Brush the meatloaf generously with additional ketchup or barbecue sauce.
Cooking
- Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours until it reaches an internal temperature of 160°F.
Serving
- Carefully lift the meatloaf out of the slow cooker using the parchment paper and allow it to rest for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
