Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed Look for bananas with lots of brown spots for maximum flavor.
  • 1/3 cup melted butter Make sure the butter is just melted, not bubbling.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar Adjust based on your preference.
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour Be careful not to overmix when combining.
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet) Fold in evenly.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 4x8-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper for easier removal.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth. Stir in the melted butter until well combined.
  3. Mix in the baking soda and salt. Then, add the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract, stirring until smoothly blended.
  4. Gently fold in the all-purpose flour until you see no white streaks, being careful not to overmix.
  5. Finally, fold in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the batter.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into your prepared loaf pan. Bake for about 60 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the bread to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve with love!
