Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, ricotta cheese, half of the mozzarella, half of the Parmesan, egg, dried oregano, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
Assembly
- Using a teaspoon or piping bag, gently fill each cannelloni tube with the chicken mixture. Be careful not to overfill.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish. Place the filled cannelloni tubes in a single layer over the sauce.
- Pour the remaining marinara sauce over the cannelloni, ensuring they are well coated.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
Baking
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20-25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes, until the cheese is golden and bubbly.
- Let it sit for about 5 minutes before serving. Garnish with fresh basil.
Notes
You can substitute chicken with shredded turkey or vegetables for a vegetarian option. Ensure chicken is cooked beforehand. Avoid overfilling the cannelloni.
