Preparation
- In a bowl, mix together soy sauce, minced ginger, minced garlic, and lime juice to create the marinade.
- Place the tuna steaks in the marinade and allow them to sit for about 10-15 minutes to soak up the flavors.
Cooking
- In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of sesame oil over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- Remove the tuna from the marinade (saving the marinade for later) and sear the tuna steaks in the hot skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side.
- Pour the saved marinade over the tuna in the last minute of cooking.
Garnishing and Serving
- Transfer the cooked tuna steaks to a plate and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and sliced green onions.
- Pair with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.

For best results, use fresh tuna and do not skip the marinating step. Ensure your skillet is hot for a good sear.
