Preparation
- In a medium bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the chicken pieces and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a small drizzle of sesame oil.
Cooking
- Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken pieces to the skillet in a single layer. Let them cook for about 5-6 minutes until they become golden and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to do this in batches for even cooking.
- After the chicken is cooked, pour any remaining marinade into the skillet. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Serving
- Once done, sprinkle the sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top for that final touch of flavor and presentation.
- Serve the Sesame Chicken over a bed of rice or noodles, and watch it disappear!
Notes
For substitutions, consider using boneless, skinless thighs for richer flavor or tamari for a gluten-free option. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
