Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium bowl, mix together soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add the chicken pieces and let them marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add a small drizzle of sesame oil.
Cooking
  1. Once the oil is hot, add the marinated chicken pieces to the skillet in a single layer. Let them cook for about 5-6 minutes until they become golden and crispy. Avoid overcrowding the pan; you may need to do this in batches for even cooking.
  2. After the chicken is cooked, pour any remaining marinade into the skillet. Let it simmer for about 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
Serving
  1. Once done, sprinkle the sesame seeds and sliced green onions on top for that final touch of flavor and presentation.
  2. Serve the Sesame Chicken over a bed of rice or noodles, and watch it disappear!

Notes

For substitutions, consider using boneless, skinless thighs for richer flavor or tamari for a gluten-free option. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
