Pizza Base
  • 1 piece pre-made pizza crust store-bought or homemade
Sausage and Gravy
  • 1 pound halal sausage bulk or patties, crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk whole or low-fat
  • to taste salt and pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
Toppings
  • 1 cup shredded cheese cheddar or mozzarella
  • for garnish fresh parsley optional

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a medium skillet over medium heat, cook the halal sausage until browned, breaking it into crumbles. This step should take about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Once the sausage is cooked, sprinkle flour over it and stir for about a minute to create a roux. Gradually whisk in the milk, ensuring there are no lumps.
  3. Season with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder. Allow the gravy to simmer for 3-5 minutes, until thickened.
  4. Preheat your oven according to the pizza crust package instructions. Place the prepared crust on a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  5. Spread the sausage gravy evenly over the crust. Sprinkle shredded cheese generously on top of the gravy.
Cooking
  1. Pop the pizza in the oven for the time indicated on the crust package — approximately 10-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Once out of the oven, let the pizza cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired, slice it up, and enjoy your savory breakfast creation!

Notes

Substitutions include adding diced bell peppers or spinach. Adjust seasonings to taste and feel free to add more cheese if desired. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to three months.
