Ingredients
  

For the Dip
  • 1 pound halal sausage (breakfast or Italian) Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter option.
  • 8 ounces cream cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies (optional) Add for extra flavor.
For Serving
  • as needed tortilla chips or bread For serving with the dip.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the halal sausage until it’s browned and crumbled, about 5-7 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  2. Lower the heat to medium-low and add in the cream cheese, stirring until melted and combined with the sausage.
  3. Gradually mix in the cheddar and mozzarella cheeses, stirring gently until melted and gooey, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. If using, mix in the diced tomatoes with green chilies for an extra layer of flavor and cook for another minute.
  5. Transfer the dip to a serving bowl and serve hot with tortilla chips or bread.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days. Reheat in the microwave for 30 seconds or on low heat in a saucepan.
