Ingredients

Cupcake Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 0.5 cups unsalted butter, softened Let it sit at room temperature prior to use.
  • 2 large eggs Ensure they are at room temperature for better mixing.
  • 0.5 cups milk Use non-dairy milk for a dairy-free version.
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract For best flavor, use pure vanilla extract.
  • 0.5 tsp baking powder Make sure it is fresh for optimal rising.
  • 0.25 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cups salted caramel sauce Use homemade or store-bought.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the softened unsalted butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated before adding the next. Add the vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually mix the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, alternating with the milk, starting and ending with the flour mixture, blending until just combined.
  6. Line a muffin tin with cupcake liners and fill each liner two-thirds full with batter.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of a cupcake.
Finishing Touches
  1. Allow the cupcakes to cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring them to a wire rack.
  2. Once cooled, drizzle salted caramel sauce generously on top.
