Ingredients
  

Filling
  • 4 cups apples, peeled and sliced Choose firm apples like Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or Fuji.
  • 1 cup salted caramel sauce For drizzling over the apples.
Oat Mixture
  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour For a gluten-free version, substitute with almond flour or a gluten-free mix.
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar Use in apple mixture as well.
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp salt

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with butter or cooking spray.
  3. In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with a tablespoon of granulated sugar and cinnamon until coated. Set aside.
  4. In another bowl, mix oats, all-purpose flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt until it resembles wet sand.
Assembly and Baking
  1. Press two-thirds of the oat mixture into the prepared baking dish evenly.
  2. Top with the seasoned apples and drizzle with salted caramel sauce.
  3. Sprinkle the remaining oat mixture on top.
  4. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  5. Allow to cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares. Serve warm, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

Store bars in an airtight container for up to 4 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave or oven.
