  • 2 pieces salmon steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (or melted butter) For brushing
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 piece Juice of 1 lemon For brightness
  • to taste Fresh herbs, like dill or parsley Optional garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Begin by patting the salmon steaks dry with a paper towel to achieve a crispy exterior.
Seasoning
  1. In a small bowl, mix olive oil (or melted butter), garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture onto both sides of the salmon.
Cooking
  1. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  2. Add the seasoned salmon steaks to the pan, cook for about 5-6 minutes on one side until golden brown.
  3. Flip the salmon steaks carefully and pour lemon juice over them. Cook for an additional 4-5 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  4. Remove the salmon from the skillet and let rest for a minute before serving.
Serving
  1. Garnish with fresh herbs if desired, and enjoy your gourmet meal!

Notes

For variations, try using different fish like swordfish or trout. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
