Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 pieces salmon fillets (about 6 ounces each)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach (washed and roughly chopped)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive oil (for cooking)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your pan by heating 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper, adding extra spices if desired.
Cooking the Salmon
  1. Carefully place the salmon fillets into the skillet, skin-side down, and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and flaky. Remove from skillet and keep warm.
Sautéing Spinach and Garlic
  1. In the same skillet, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  2. Add the chopped spinach and cook until wilted, about 2-3 minutes.
Making the Sauce
  1. Pour in the heavy cream and stir to combine, allowing it to simmer for a minute to thicken slightly.
  2. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted smoothly into the sauce.
Combining and Serving
  1. Return the salmon fillets to the skillet, spooning the creamy sauce over them. Cook together for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  2. Plate your Salmon Florentine warm, ensuring each serving has plenty of sauce.

Notes

For lighter options, consider using Greek yogurt instead of heavy cream or swap Parmesan with a preferred Halal-friendly cheese. Ensure not to overcrowd the pan to avoid uneven cooking.
