Ingredients

For the base
  • 3 pieces ripe tomatoes, diced Make sure your tomatoes are ripe for the best flavor.
  • 1 piece onion, finely chopped Any variety of onion can work, but yellow onion is preferred.
  • 2 pieces jalapeños, seeded and minced Adjust the number based on your heat preference.
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped Fresh cilantro adds a burst of flavor.
  • 2 pieces limes, juiced Provide a refreshing tang.
  • to taste Salt Enhances the overall flavors.

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by chopping your tomatoes, onion, and jalapeños. Make sure to remove the seeds from the jalapeños to control the heat, unless you like it spicy!
  2. In a large bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, minced jalapeños, and fresh cilantro. Add the lime juice and a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
Assembly
  1. Take your crispy base (you can use tortilla chips or a baked crispy layer) and start layering your mixture on top. The idea is to create a beautiful presentation while ensuring every bite is packed with flavor.
Serving
  1. Once you have your layers well-assembled, serve immediately while it's warm. Optional: Add more lime juice and cilantro for that extra zing!

Notes

Avoid using pre-cut ingredients to ensure freshness. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container for about 3 days. When reheating, use an oven or toaster oven for best results.
