Preparation
- In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside for later use.
- In another bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Beat until smooth and creamy.
- Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture until well blended. Add in the vanilla extract and mix gently.
Layering
- Line the bottom of an 8×8-inch baking dish with a layer of Ritz crackers, ensuring they cover the entire base.
- Spread a layer of the cream mixture over the crackers, smoothing it out evenly.
- Drizzle a generous amount of salted caramel on top of the cream layer.
- Continue layering with more Ritz crackers, cream mixture, and caramel until you’ve reached the top of the dish—end with the cream layer.
Chilling
- Refrigerate the cake for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to meld together and the cake to set.
Serving
- Before serving, drizzle additional salted caramel on top and sprinkle with a pinch of sea salt for an extra touch.
Notes
Pairs beautifully with fresh berries, vanilla ice cream, or a cup of coffee.
