  • 2 cans 12 oz cans of refrigerated biscuit dough
  • 2 cups of milk (whole milk recommended) For creaminess
  • 1/4 cup of all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup of unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dried thyme or Italian seasoning

  • Grated cheese
  • Fresh parsley

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even cooking.
  2. Open the cans of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into quarters. Place them in a greased 9x13 inch casserole dish.
Making the Gravy
  1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in the flour and cook for about 1 minute to create a roux.
  3. Gradually add the milk while whisking constantly to avoid lumps. Continue cooking until the mixture thickens.
  4. Stir in garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, and thyme. Once seasoned to taste, pour the gravy evenly over the biscuit pieces in the casserole dish.
Baking
  1. Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the gravy is bubbly.
Serving
  1. Once baked, remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Top with optional grated cheese and freshly chopped herbs before serving.

Notes

For an even richer flavor, substitute half of the milk with cream. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
