Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted
  • 4 cups water
  • 4 tea bags black or green tea
  • 1-2 tablespoons honey or sugar to taste
  • Ice
  • Fresh mint leaves for garnish

Method

Preparation
  1. Start by washing the cherries thoroughly. Remove the pits and chop the cherries into halves for easier blending.
  2. In a large pot, bring four cups of water to a boil.
Brewing and Mixing
  1. Once the water is boiling, remove it from heat. Add the tea bags and allow them to steep for around 5-7 minutes, depending on your desired strength.
  2. While your tea is steeping, blend the pitted cherries in a blender until you achieve a smooth puree. You can add a splash of water if necessary to help in blending.
  3. After the tea has steeped, remove the tea bags and stir in honey or sugar to taste (this is optional). Then, strain out the cherry puree using a fine mesh sieve to ensure a smooth drink.
  4. Combine the strained cherry juice with the tea in a large pitcher. Add ice to your serving glasses, pour over the cherry tea mixture, and garnish with fresh mint leaves.
Serving
  1. Enjoy your Refreshing Cherry Iced Tea right away or let it chill in the refrigerator for a bit longer to enhance the flavors.

Notes

To store your Refreshing Cherry Iced Tea, transfer it into an airtight pitcher or container, lasting up to one week in the fridge. Consider freezing portions in ice cube trays for later use. Serve cold for the best taste.
