Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, stir the melted butter and sugar together until smooth. Then add the eggs, red food coloring, and vanilla extract, and whisk until fully combined.
- Gradually stir the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Avoid overmixing.
Baking
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×9-inch baking pan. Smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
Cooling and Serving
- Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Once cooled, cut into squares and serve.
Notes
For gooey brownies, slightly underbake them. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or refrigerate for a week. Freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in microwave for 10-15 seconds for softness.
