Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups pumpkin puree Ensure it's 100% pure with no additives.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Can be substituted with maple syrup or coconut sugar.
  • 1 cup apple cider
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Method

Preparation
  1. In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the pumpkin puree, brown sugar, apple cider, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, cloves, salt, and lemon juice. Stir well until everything is evenly mixed.
  2. Place the saucepan over medium heat. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
  3. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and allow the mixture to simmer for about 20-25 minutes while stirring occasionally.
  4. After about 25 minutes, check the texture. It should be thick and spreadable. If it’s too runny, simmer for a few more minutes.
  5. Remove from heat and let it cool before transferring to a jar or airtight container for storage.

Notes

Store your Pumpkin Butter in an airtight jar for up to 2 weeks in the refrigerator or freeze it for up to 6 months.
