  • 3 pieces ripe bananas, mashed Use ripe bananas for the best sweetness and flavor.
  • 1 cup protein powder Choose a protein powder that suits your dietary preferences.
  • 1/2 cup almond milk Substitute with any other plant-based milk if needed.
  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup Honey can be replaced with agave syrup for a vegan option.
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
Dry Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder Provides the chocolate flavor.
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips (optional) Fold in for extra chocolatey goodness.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas until smooth.
  3. Whisk together the eggs, almond milk, honey or maple syrup, and vanilla extract with the mashed bananas.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the protein powder, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
Mixing
  1. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  2. Fold in the dark chocolate chips if using.
Baking
  1. Grease a loaf pan or line it with parchment paper and pour the batter into the pan.
  2. Bake for 50-60 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
  3. Let the bread cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week. Freeze individual slices for up to three months.
