Method
Preparation
- In a medium-sized mixing bowl, mix 1 cup of water with 1 tablespoon of baking soda. Stir until it's fully dissolved.
- Take your frozen pretzel bites and dip each one into the baking soda solution for just a few seconds.
- Lay the dipped pretzel bites on a paper towel for a moment to drain excess liquid. Then, sprinkle coarse salt over the bites as desired.
Cooking
- Preheat your air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
- Arrange the pretzel bites in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they have enough space to cook evenly, about 8-10 minutes.
Serving
- Once they are golden and puffy, remove them from the air fryer and let them cool for just a few minutes.
- If you'd like, brush them with melted butter to enhance the flavor.
Notes
To customize, try adding garlic powder or onion powder after frying. Avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket for even cooking. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days, or freeze for up to 3 months. Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for about 5 minutes.
