Ingredients

For the filling
  • 2 cups plums, pitted and sliced
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
For the crumb topping
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the sliced plums, sugar, flour, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss everything together until the plums are well coated.
  3. In another bowl, mix together 1 cup of flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, softened butter, and salt. Use a fork or your fingers to blend until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Pour the plum mixture into a greased pie dish, making sure it’s evenly distributed. Then, sprinkle the crumb topping generously over the plums.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 35-40 minutes, or until the plum filling is bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
  2. Let the pie cool slightly before serving. It’s divine served warm, especially with a scoop of ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream!

Notes

For variations, you can substitute plums with nectarines or peaches. Ensure to include lemon juice for balancing flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze individual slices for later enjoyment.
