Ingredients

For the Sliders
  • 1 lb thinly sliced ribeye steak (or flank steak)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper sliced
  • 8 slices provolone cheese (or cheese of your choice)
  • 12 slider rolls Hawaiian rolls are a great option
  • Salt and pepper, to taste Optional: mayonnaise or melted butter for spreading

Method

Preparation
  1. Slice the steak, onion, and bell pepper thinly. If your steak isn’t pre-sliced, it helps to freeze it for 10–15 minutes before cutting for easier slicing.
Cooking
  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and bell peppers, cooking for 5–7 minutes until softened and caramelized. Season with salt and pepper. Remove and set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, add the sliced steak. Cook for about 3–5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until browned and fully cooked. Combine the steak with the sautéed vegetables.
Assembling and Baking
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Slice your slider rolls in half horizontally (keeping the tops connected). Place the bottom halves in a baking dish. Spread a thin layer of mayonnaise if desired.
  2. Evenly distribute the steak and veggie mixture over the bottom rolls, then layer the provolone slices on top. Add the top halves of the rolls.
  3. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 10 minutes. Remove the foil and bake an additional 5 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the tops are golden brown.
Serving
  1. Let cool for a couple of minutes, then slice into individual sliders. Serve warm with chips, fries, or a dipping sauce of your choice!

Notes

Top Tips: Choose ribeye for the best flavor, caramelize onions and peppers slowly, explore different cheese options, avoid overstuffing, and add a butter glaze for a golden finish. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
