  • 1 pound sirloin steak or flank steak (thinly sliced)
  • 1 medium onion (sliced)
  • 1 green bell pepper (sliced)
  • 8 oz. mushrooms (sliced, optional) Optional for added flavor and texture
  • 2 cups cooked pasta (elbow or penne works well)
  • 2 cups provolone cheese (shredded) Traditional cheese choice
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For sautéing vegetables
  • to taste salt and pepper For seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce (optional) For added flavor

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add sliced onion, green bell pepper, and optional mushrooms. Sauté for about 5 minutes until soft.
  3. Remove the sautéed vegetables from the skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add thinly sliced steak. Season with salt, pepper, and Worcestershire sauce if desired. Cook for about 5-6 minutes until browned.
  5. In a large bowl, mix the cooked pasta with the sautéed vegetables and cooked steak. Stir in half of the provolone cheese.
  6. Transfer the mixture into a greased baking dish. Top with the remaining provolone cheese generously.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  8. Remove from the oven, let it cool for a few minutes, serve hot, and enjoy!

Notes

Customize toppings with extra cheese, crispy fried onions, or different veggies as preferred. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen for up to 3 months.
