  • 2-3 tablespoons vegetable oil, for frying Heat over medium-high heat.
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced Avoid browning for best flavor.
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce Choose a halal-friendly option.
  • 1 tablespoon chili paste Adjust to taste.
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil Optional for an added depth of flavor.
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish (optional)

Preparation
  1. Wash and trim the green beans.
Cooking
  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the minced garlic and ginger to the pan and sauté for about 30 seconds.
  3. Toss the green beans into the pan, stirring to coat with the oil, garlic, and ginger. Cook for about 5-7 minutes.
  4. Pour in the soy sauce and chili paste. Stir to coat the green beans, cooking for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  5. If using, drizzle in sesame oil just before serving. Season with salt and pepper to taste and top with sesame seeds.
  6. Serve hot straight from the skillet or cool slightly for serving at a gathering.

Notes

For heat, substitute chili paste with fresh chili peppers or sriracha. Ensure not to overcook the beans for the best texture. Refrigerate leftovers for up to 3 days or freeze for up to a month.
