Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed) Make sure the puff pastry is fully thawed.
  • 1 cup pesto sauce (store-bought or homemade) Use your preferred pesto for best flavor.
  • 1 wheel brie cheese (about 8 oz.) You can substitute with camembert or gouda if desired.
  • 1 large egg Used for egg wash.
  • to taste sesame seeds For topping.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out your thawed puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until it’s about 12 inches square.
  3. Place the brie cheese in the center of the puff pastry. Spoon the pesto sauce generously over the top of the brie, leaving a little pastry edge all around.
  4. Cut slits around the cheese from the edge towards the cheese, about 1-inch wide strips. Fold those strips over the cheese, alternating sides until it’s completely wrapped.
  5. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush it over the pastry. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top.
  6. Place the wrapped brie on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown.
  7. Once out of the oven, let your creation cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

If you have leftovers, refrigerate for up to 3 days in an airtight container. Reheat covered in foil at 350°F (175°C) for about 10 minutes for the best texture.
