Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
- Add in the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined to keep the cookies tender.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently until evenly distributed.
- Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto ungreased baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
Baking
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, until edges are lightly golden.
- Remove cookies from the oven and let them sit on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, chill the dough for 30 minutes before baking. Sprinkle sea salt on top of the cookies before baking for an added flavor boost. Store cookies in an airtight container for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
