Ingredients

For the Chicken
  • 1.5 pounds Chicken Breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil, for frying
For the Marinade
  • 1/2 cup Honey
  • 1/4 cup Soy Sauce Use sodium-reduced if desired
  • 3 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger, freshly grated
For Garnishing
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds For garnish (optional)
  • 2 pieces Green Onions, finely chopped For garnish (optional)

Method

Preparation
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken pieces with salt and pepper. Toss well to evenly coat them.
  2. In another bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, garlic, and ginger. Reserve 1/4 cup for later.
  3. Pour the marinade over the chicken and let it sit for at least 15 minutes while you prep everything else. If you have time, marinating for 30-60 minutes will enhance the flavor even more.
Cooking
  1. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the marinated chicken pieces, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Sauté on each side for 4-5 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Once the chicken is cooked through, pour the reserved marinade into the skillet. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until it thickens slightly and coats the chicken with a glossy glaze.
Serving
  1. Serve hot, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped green onions.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To freeze, place cooled chicken in a freezer-safe container for about 2 months.
