Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package fresh cheese tortellini (9-12 oz)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • to taste Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Method

Cooking the Tortellini
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the cheese tortellini and cook according to package instructions until they are al dente (usually around 3-5 minutes). Drain the tortellini and set aside.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
  1. In the same pot, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, pour in the heavy cream and allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  2. Slowly whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese, stirring until it melts and the sauce thickens slightly. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
Combining and Serving
  1. Gently add the cooked tortellini to the Alfredo sauce, tossing them gently to coat evenly. If the sauce seems too thick, add a splash of pasta water to loosen it up.
  2. Immediately plate the tortellini, garnishing with freshly chopped parsley if desired. Enjoy your creamy pasta dish!

Notes

For additional flavor, consider adding crushed garlic or red pepper flakes while making the sauce. Always use fresh tortellini for the best texture.
