Ingredients
  

Chocolate Layers
  • 12 ounces dark chocolate chips Use high-quality chocolate for best flavor.
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips Ensure to melt gently to avoid burning.
Peppermint
  • 1 cup crushed peppermint candies You can substitute with crushed candy canes.
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract Optional for an extra minty flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy removal.
Melting Chocolate
  1. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a double boiler or microwave in short bursts.
  2. Once melted, pour the dark chocolate onto the prepared baking sheet and spread to form an even layer (about 1/4 inch thick).
Adding Peppermint
  1. Sprinkle half of the crushed peppermint candies over the warm dark chocolate and gently press them in.
  2. Melt the white chocolate chips in the same manner and pour over the dark chocolate layer.
  3. Spread the white chocolate evenly and top with remaining crushed peppermint candies.
Setting the Bark
  1. Allow to cool at room temperature, then refrigerate for 30-60 minutes until set.
  2. Break into pieces once set or use a knife for defined cuts.
