Ingredients

For the rolls
  • 1 pack refrigerated cinnamon roll dough
For the filling
  • 1 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix the chopped pecans, brown sugar, melted butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and cinnamon until thoroughly combined.
  3. Unroll the package of refrigerated cinnamon rolls carefully on a floured surface and flatten the dough to form an even rectangle.
  4. Evenly spread the pecan filling over the flattened dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
  5. Starting from one long side, roll the dough tightly into a log, keeping the filling intact.
  6. Using a sharp knife, slice the rolled dough into approximately 12 equal sections and place them in a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake the rolls in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. If the cinnamon rolls come with icing, drizzle it over the warm rolls. Otherwise, mix powdered sugar and water to create a glaze.
  9. Enjoy warm, ideally shared with loved ones.

Notes

For a nut-free version, replace pecans with chopped walnuts or omit altogether. Bake until golden but not dry. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze them well-wrapped. Reheat in the microwave for 10-15 seconds or in the oven at 350°F for about 5 minutes.
