Ingredients

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup creamy peanut butter (make sure it’s halal-certified) Creamy peanut butter yields the best texture.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 piece egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • a pinch of salt (optional) For balancing flavor.
Chocolate Filling
  • 1 cup chocolate chips (halal-certified) Substitutions can include melted dark chocolate or crushed nuts.

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) to ensure even baking.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, granulated sugar, egg, vanilla extract, baking powder, and a pinch of salt. Mix until smooth and well-combined.
  3. Drop spoonfuls of the dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  4. Use your thumb to make an indentation in the center of each ball of dough.
  5. Add a few chocolate chips into each indentation.
Baking
  1. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown. Be cautious not to overbake.
  2. Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week or freeze for up to three months. Reheat in the microwave for about 10-15 seconds to revitalize texture.
